Imprisoned former New Jersey Sen. Wayne Bryant facing second corruption trial

Prosecutors may use evidence from an earlier corruption case at the upcoming trial of former state Senator Wayne Bryant, a federal judge has ruled.

But U.S. District Judge Freda Wolfson said she still is to determine the scope of such evidence, which would be taken from a 2008 trial that led to Bryant’s conviction and current imprisonment. She noted prosecutors have not yet disclosed the witnesses and documents that they hope will demonstrate “prior bad conduct” by Bryant, once a powerful South Jersey Democrat.
